Dental Staff

As a Clinton County native, Dr. Alexa Vitek-Hitchcock grew up in St. Johns, Michigan, and is a proud graduate of St. Johns High School. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Sciences from Grand Valley State University and a Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree from the University Of Detroit Mercy School Of Dentistry.

Dr. Vitek-Hitchcock started our general dental practice in DeWitt from scratch in the summer of 2007. She believes in preventive dentistry and that dental health impacts overall health. She enjoys working with patients of all ages to achieve optimal oral health. Our practice begins seeing patients starting at the age of 9 months.

Working with children and their families to create a positive dental experience is a top priority to Dr. Alexa and she wants our office to be warm and welcoming to patients of all ages. She would love for you and your family to become patients of our patient family!

Outside of the office, Dr. Alexa enjoys spending time with her family and friends, especially her niece Alivia and nephew Hyde, traveling, working out, and being involved in organized dentistry leadership positions. She and her husband Michael call DeWitt home.

Dr. Vitek-Hitchcock is a member of Central District Dental Association, Michigan Dental Association, American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, American College of Dentists, International College of Dentists, Pierre Fauchard Academy, and Delta Sigma Delta Professional Dental Fraternity. Dr. Vitek-Hitchcock has a zest for organized dentistry and truly enjoys volunteering her time in leadership activities.

Professional Dental Organization Involvement:

Before graduating from dental school in May 2004, Dr. Vitek-Hitchcock was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon (OKU) Dental Honor Society at the University Of Detroit Mercy School Of Dentistry.

She served as the chairperson of the Michigan Dental Association's Committee on Membership for 6 years and is the past president of the Central District Dental Society. Currently, Dr. Alexa has been elected to serve a 4-year term to represent the dentists of Michigan and Wisconsin on the American Dental Associations Council on Membership.

From 2007-2010, Dr. Vitek- Hitchcock served as a delegate to the Michigan Dental Association's House of Delegates. Dr. Vitek-Hitchcock was inducted in April of 2009 into the Pierre Fauchard Academy (PFA), whose focus is on professionalism, integrity, and ethics while supporting and honoring dentists for their distinguished work, research, contributions, and public service.

Because of her involvement and leadership in organized dentistry, Dr. Vitek-Hitchcock received the Michigan Dental Association's New Dentist Award in April 2011.

Since 2012, she has been selected to represent Michigan dentists as a delegate to the American Dental Association's House of Delegates and has chaired the ADA's 9^th District Reference Committee on Membership.

In October of 2012, Dr. Vitek-Hitchcock was selected to be inducted as a fellow of the prestigious American College of Dentists (ACD). As inducted fellows of the oldest major honorary organization for dentists, members of the American College of Dentists must have exemplified ethical excellence through outstanding leadership and exceptional contributions to dentistry and society.

In October of 2017, Dr.Vitek-Hitchcock was selected to be inducted into the International College of Dentists.

Malynda completed her education in dental hygiene at Lansing Community College in 2010 and began working for Vitek Family Dentistry in January 2013.

Malynda resides in Westphalia with her husband and their sons, Weston and Desmond and daughter, June. She loves to spend time with family and friends as well as going to her family’s cottage up north. She also enjoys traveling, turkey hunting, gardening, and running races.

Kasey has a Bachelor’s Degree from Central Michigan University in Child Development. After spending 13 years in the child care field, she joined the Vitek Family Dentistry team as a dental assistant in January 2013. She lives in Dewitt with her husband Rob, their three children, Robert, Steven, Lindsey, and their 3 dogs, Ruby, Roy, and Stella. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, walking, reading, and relaxing at her cottage on Saginaw Bay.

Shelly joined our office in June 2014 as a dental assistant and has worked in the dental field for over 20 years. She is a lifelong resident of DeWitt. Shelly lives with her husband of 29 years, John, and has two children, Betsy, and John Michael. Shelly enjoys reading in her spare time.

Emilie is our patient care coordinator and joined our office in July of 2019. She lives in St. Johns with her husband Jason and their two sons. She enjoys spending time with her family and running in her free time.

Danielle is our patient financial coordinator and joined our office in May of 2012. Danielle has more than a decade of experience in pet care and has been professionally grooming since 2007. She lives in Grand Ledge with her husband Geoff and two children, Zoey and Miles. They share their home with their 5 horses, 3 dogs, a cat, and 2 rabbits. Danielle is an avid rider and in her free time enjoys camping, bass fishing, and deer hunting.

Sara graduated from U of M in 2013 and has been with Dr. Vitek since 2021.  She has two children and two dogs. She and her husband and kids love to go to the Higgins Lake area in the summer and snowmobile there in the winter. She loves educating her patients and prides herself on making everyone feel comfortable during their appointments.
