What To Expect
Welcome to Vitek Family Dentistry! We look forward to meeting you! Before you come in, we thought you might appreciate knowing what you can expect while at our office.
We may be a little different from other dental offices that you've been to in the past. We believe that achieving and maintaining healthy teeth and gums takes a team effort that includes patient, doctor, and dental team. We believe in patient education and preventive dentistry following up-to-date standards of care.
It is important to us that you are well informed about your oral health and that we also have the opportunity to gather as much information as necessary to make an accurate diagnosis. Please plan on being in our office for approximately 60 minutes for your comprehensive examination with Dr. Vitek and an additional 60 minutes for your professional cleaning with one of our hygienists, Kelly or Malynda.
On your first visit, we will discuss how to properly care for your teeth and gums. We will provide you with a comprehensive examination that includes a thorough review of your medical and dental history, any necessary x-rays, an oral cancer screening, and a complete evaluation of your teeth and gums.
To give you the best care possible, we utilize up-to-date dental technology including an intra-oral camera, digital x-rays, and DIAGNOdent technology (a laser cavity detection aid that assists us in the diagnosis of cavities at their earliest stage).
Following recommended standards of dental care, it is our policy to take diagnostic x-rays annually and we will complete them at your first visit unless current x-rays are received. If you have current x-rays available from another office, we request that you arrange to have them sent to us prior to your first visit by mailing the enclosed Records Release form to your previous dentist. Most insurance contracts have limitations on how often x-rays may be taken, so please verify your eligibility with your insurance company.
Using the results from your exam and x-rays, we will determine a treatment plan explaining any dental procedures that may be necessary for your dental health. We will provide you with an estimation of your out of pocket costs for your investment in restoring your dental health. If you have insurance, we ask that you pay your estimated portion due on the day of treatment. If you do not have insurance, we ask that you pay for all services in full.
Being well-prepared for your appointment will ensure that the doctor has all of the needed information to provide the best possible care for you. Newpatient paperwork can be printed off our website or mailed to you. We ask that paperworkbe returned to our office at least one week prior to your appointment. Educate yourself on your symptoms by reviewing the content on this Web site. Also, take some time to review our staff page and familiarize yourself with the doctors. We look forward to your first visit.
